“Closer Look”

“Closer Look” is a compilation of artwork created by luxury artist, Gary Einloth (aka PiJ PoJ). The collection, as a whole, portrays the way Einloth lives his life through the use of different personas and situations that he has created. Each piece in this collection has been hand crafted by the artist himself using wood, crown molding, canvas, wire, acrylic, watercolor, acrylic plastics, and actual found 3D objects.

As the artist, Gary feels the need to work on his paintings every step of the way, from stretching the canvas to framing the end result. Each 3D object or sculpture within the paintings has been carefully placed and painted over, in such a way, to give the appearance of a flat (2D) painting. The artist works using this unique process in hopes the viewer will notice slight obscurities within his work and move in for a closer look; only to find that the objects are, in fact, 3D and mounted to the canvas. PiJ PoJ states, “For me, it is all about getting the viewer to move in, take that closer look, and truly try to understand the deeper meaning behind each piece. The second they move in for a closer look, they are one step closer to understanding my work and feeling the emotions I set out to convey.”

The title for each piece within the collection is followed by a brief quote the artist has written to hint at the deeper meaning behind each work of art.
